YEIDA Clears Noida Film City Phase 1 Map Work to Begin Soon

YEIDA Approves Noida Film City Phase 1 Map Layout, Construction will begin soon
A major update has come on the International Film City project in Noida, which is being developed in Sector 21 near the Yamuna Expressway. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has officially approved the Phase 1 layout map of the film city. This means the construction work is finally ready to begin. The approval was given with certain conditions, and the foundation stone of this big project is likely to be laid on June 27, 2025.
Film City is one of the dream projects of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He has often spoken about this project in many of his public speeches, saying that it will give a strong boost to the film and entertainment industry in UP. It is also expected to generate thousands of jobs and attract big filmmakers from across India, just like Mumbai.
Noida Film City Phase I development overview
YEIDA Latest Film City Map
According to YEIDA officials, the film city will be built on a total area of 230 acres in Sector 21. Out of this, 80 acres will be developed in the first phase, while the remaining 150 acres will be taken up in the second phase later.
In this 80-acre area, 26 acres will be developed as a green belt, while the rest 54 acres will be used for film-related work, like studios, post-production units, a film university, sound stages, and other modern infrastructure.
Previous Map was Disapproved by the Authority
This project had faced delays earlier. When film producer Boney Kapoor and the development partner Bhutani Group first submitted the layout plan, YEIDA returned it. The authority had pointed out that the green area was not properly shown and the layout included things like hotels and warehouses instead of important film infrastructure. Now that all issues have been fixed, the updated plan has finally been approved.
YEIDA CEO Point of View
YEIDA CEO Dr. Arun Vir Singh confirmed the approval but also said that construction will begin only after the green belt is developed. This was one of the main conditions given by the authority.
Another interesting thing is that special facilities will be available for helicopter-based shooting. For this, a runway and helipad will be built inside the film city. There will also be different sets like Parliament House, Chardham, a sea-side setup, and solar-powered locations. This will allow filmmakers to shoot different types of scenes without having to travel far.
Also, as per the agreement signed between YEIDA and the company on June 27, 2024, it is necessary to start construction within one year. If the construction does not start by June 27, 2025, a fine of 1.5 lakh per day will be imposed. This clause makes sure that there are no more delays in building this film city.
Noida Film City Road Connectivity
To support the massive infrastructure, wide roads of 130 m, 100 m, and 75 m will be built. Four expressway interchanges are also being planned to connect the city easily. A power substation of 132/33 KVA and a 5 MLD rainwater treatment plant will be built too, ensuring water and electricity supply without any shortage.
Conditions for Further Development Plan
Once the construction on the first 80 acres is completed, the developers will then submit the plan for the remaining 150 acres. But YEIDA has made it clear that at least 15% of the film activities must be completed first before the second-phase plan is approved.
Final Words
This film city will not only attract directors and producers from across the country but also help local youth and aspiring artists to find career opportunities in the entertainment industry. With the Noida International Airport also being built nearby, this region is expected to become a major hub for media, tourism, and employment in the coming years.
The future of Noida's entertainment industry looks bright with this massive project. The government, developers, and filmmakers are all set to turn this dream into reality. If all goes well, film shooting may begin here within the next 1 to 2 years. This new film city is not just about cinema – it's a symbol of progress and a new identity for Noida and Uttar Pradesh.
